Visit of the Ukrainian delegation from Kyiv city state administration to Veolia waste management facilities in Germany

From 7th to 8th February, Veolia welcomed at Veolia Umweltservice GmbH Headquarters in Hamburg (Germany) the Ukrainian delegation from Kyiv city state administration, headed by the First Vice-Mayor Mr. Panteleyev.

During the visit, the parties exchanged their views on further development of the waste management area in Kyiv, particularly, Veolia presented three alternative options, one of which is the mechanical and biological waste processing with the production of alternative fuels and further heat and power generation.

During the stay, the Ukrainian delegation visited one of the biggest in Germany mechanical and biological waste processing plants EVG GmbH (with the capacity of 190 000 tpy) and the incineration plant based on alternative fuel Vattenfall in Rostock (with the capacity of 180 000 tpy).

«During our discussions, we took into consideration all the wishes and strategic goals of the city to solve waste management problems in the capital, - noticed Mr. Matthias Vogel, Executive Director Waste Management CEE / Veolia Ukraine Director. The next step of our cooperation will be the development of the roadmap and a deeper investigation of the most realistic waste management concept for Kyiv city. "
