The First Kyiv Municipal Forum, supported by the KCSA and KP "Kyivcomunservice", held on September 30, 2019, became a platform for discussions and development of a common position of state authorities on the development of local self-government, improvement of the legislative framework, support for economic development of communities, etc.
The participants of the Forum were representatives of municipalities, international experts, members of public and business organizations.
The topics of the discussion were the National Waste Management Strategy and the creation of regional strategies and legislative initiatives; effective world-wide waste management practices, successful examples of technology, function sharing and responsibility.
Among the speakers were: Alona Babak (Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine) Alexey Orzhel (Minister of Energy and Environment), Petro Panteleev (Deputy Chairman of KSCA) and others.
Foreign speakers also shared their experience: Andrzej Kzyszkow (Waste Management Expert, Director of ProGeo, Wroclaw, Poland), Alexandra Burguan, Vice President of Business Development, Waste in Central and Eastern Europe, CIS, SUES SA, Mattias Vogel (Executive Director of Central and Eastern Europe Waste Management and Director of VEOLIA (Germany) in Ukraine).
